Pet Sitting At Your Home
My name is Margaret Doub. I love animals and pet sitting allows me to have all
the animals I want. Over the years, I've had dogs, cats, horses, chickens, ducks,
goats, turtles, fish, and birds. Currently, I have horses and cats. Three of the
cats are deaf so I have had to learn ways of non-verbal communication.

I spent some of my teen-age years living next to a dairy farm in Northville and I
did their chores for “fun”. I was involved in 4H as a teen and then later as a 4-H
group leader for kids who were interested in horses. In my early twenties, I
worked at a Thoroughbred horse racing farm, Red-Bob Farm in Oxford, as an
exercise rider teaching 2-year old horses how to race.

In 1999, my dog Daisy and I received basic and intermediate dog obedience
certificates from Jeremy Montange. She and I both had fun earning them.

In 2004, I took a Pet First Aid class offered through
Washtenaw Community
College and taught by Dr. Margaret Lane at Lane Animal Hospital here in
Chelsea. Upon completion of the class, the clinic gave each of us a pet first-aid
kit, which I carry with me whenever I am pet sitting.

In 2005, I earned my
Pet Sitter Accreditation from Pet Sitters International, a
international pet sitting organization. It is a very through, complete course
covering the care and health of many exotic pets as well as dogs, cats, pocket
pets, and farm animals.

I work at Renaissance Morgan Farm, helping the trainer with the care, training,
and breeding of these beautiful horses. I also developed their web site
Renaissance Morgan Farm.

I’ve made my home in
Chelsea since 1979 and I really enjoy all the area has to
offer. I have worked for over 30 years in the computer industry, most recently as
a programmer at Ford Motor Company. I still work with computers - helping
people use them, loading software, and developing web sites. Also, I  volunteer
for several organizations:
the
Huron River Watershed Council, in the Adopt-A-Stream Program and the
Bioreserve Project, the National Weather Service, as a severe weather spotter
with the
Skywarn Program for Washtenaw County Emergency Management,
and the
Chelsea District Library, as a Computer and Public User Support
Volunteer.
